Bio & Contact
After earning her BFA in Photography & Digital Media from the University of Houston, Shauna embraced a dual passion for art and education, finding her place as a dedicated photography and digital art media teacher in Texas public schools. Guiding students to pursue their artistic aspirations, she simultaneously heeded her own advice, maintaining an active presence in the art world as a professional artist.
Inspired by the interplay of nature, philosophy, and science—particularly metaphysics and epigenetics—Shauna’s work evokes a darker, contemplative aesthetic. Her art has been exhibited across the United States, with her photography featured in numerous Texas-based newspapers and magazines.
Shauna’s commitment to art education extends beyond the classroom. She conducts encaustic workshops throughout Texas, collaborating with local artists, school districts, and fellow educators through organizations like the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA). As she begins taking these workshops nationwide, Shauna anticipates forming connections with art enthusiasts and supporters everywhere, believing deeply in the transformative power of shared learning.
"There is always something we can learn from each and every person on this planet."
